Jodi Nachtwey joined PSRAI as a Project Director in February 2012. She has substantial experience in data analysis and survey research, with prior work focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. Before joining PSRAI, she taught courses on comparative politics, international development, and Middle East politics at Wayne State University. Her past publications have examined popular support for political Islam and views toward international conflict. In other earlier work, she conducted public opinion research as a Middle East analyst for the United States Department of State, focusing on topics such as U.S. image, terrorism, regional conflict, political leadership, youth, and media. Nachtwey earned a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in political science, with concentrations in comparative politics, international relations, and methodology.
